1a.) Short reading activity – The lifecycle of a flower

Remember, our focus this week is to improve our speed of reading.  Time yourself 60 seconds and see if you can read the whole of the short text in your head in this time.  Can you read all 130 words in a minute?  Jot down how many words you read.  Was this more than yesterday?

You will then have four VIPERS questions to answer based on this text and then a further task of writing your own question in a particular VIPER style.  We will have a practice of this in our live lesson this morning.

1b.) Literacy – Designing and creating our information texts

Today is your chance to put all your hard work into a finished product.  Try to be as creative as possible.  I can’t wait to see what you have produced.

Remember, you might have chosen to record your information to present alongside your pictures just like David Attenborough does in his documentaries.
