Merry Christmas Everyone!

I love the hand bells at Christmas time.

Band practice in preparation for our Christmas performance outside to parents and family members.

No music pegged onto music stands and no music flying across the playground here!

This week, we have two children in our class who have been chosen for the music award:

IW was chosen by Mrs Mellor for putting in increased practice with her saxophone and OC was chosen by Mr Dodd for learning new and more difficult parts for the band.

Congratulations to SR for being chosen for this week’s music star!

Mr Dodd chose him for making great improvement in his playing.

Well done.

Here is a first chance to see the amazing work that Mr Dodd and the Year 6 brass musicians have been doing.

On Wednesday, the Year 5 and 6 children had a singing workshop with Sam Gilliatt, one of the musical directors from Barnsley Youth Choir.  The children had so much fun with the warm ups and they learnt the song ‘Superheroes’ by the Script which you can watch below.  We have another workshop to look forward to next Wednesday.

Today, we decided to learn to play our leavers’ song ‘Memories’ on chime bars.  This is dedicated to the rest of the class who couldn’t be at school with us.
